ChatGPT Ads — pixel
The ChatGPT pixel measures what customers do in the online store after they have clicked on an ad in ChatGPT. It is an addition to the product feed and is not needed to display ads. Mystore adds it for you.
⚠️ The module is not available in the control panel
The ChatGPT pixel module can only be set up by Mystore. Please contact customer service if you want to use it. You do not need to do anything in the module yourself.
Feed and pixel
ChatGPT Ads uses two different things, and they are set up separately.
Product feed | Pixel | |
|---|---|---|
What it does | Provides ChatGPT with products, prices, and stock status | Measures visits and purchases after clicking on an ad |
Required for advertising | Yes | No |
Set up | By yourself, in Shopping feed | By Mystore |
If you are starting with ChatGPT Ads, you begin with the feed. Read ChatGPT Ads — product feed.
What the pixel measures
The pixel sends these events to ChatGPT:
- page views
- view of a product
- product added to cart
- checkout initiated
- purchase completed
The purchase is sent with the order number, so ChatGPT does not count the same order twice.
Same ID as in the feed
The pixel uses the same product IDs as the feed, including for variants. This allows ChatGPT to link an event to the correct product and variant. The pixel therefore requires the feed to be set up.
Consent
If your store uses a consent banner, the pixel sends the choice the customer has made regarding advertising data. If the customer has not given consent, ChatGPT is notified.
How to get the pixel
1. Create a ChatGPT ad account with OpenAI and find your Pixel ID.
2. Send the Pixel ID to customer service and request that the ChatGPT pixel is set up.
3. Mystore adds it and turns it on.
You can request that the pixel is turned off or changed to a different Pixel ID in the same way.
