Multi-store — main store's own settings

The main store has three settings that belong to it, not a pair with a sub-store. They control how the main store uses the inventory of the other stores.

You can find them under Settings → Multi-store, top entry in the store list: Main store. It is selected when you open the page.

Cross-selling from these stores

Allows the main store to sell products it is out of stock for, and automatically order them from the stores you select. The customer can shop as normal, and the items are ordered from the store that actually has them.

You choose from the sub-stores in the setup. A store that has inventory synchronization enabled cannot be used as a source — because its inventory will be written identically to the main store's anyway, and the reservation placed by cross-selling will disappear at the next synchronization.

💡 This is the main store's own list
Each sub-store has its own cross-selling list, set under the Settings tab for that store. They do not affect each other.

Show summarized inventory

Shows total inventory across the main store and all sub-stores in the product list in the control panel, with a breakdown per store. Useful when stores have their own physical inventory and you want to see the overall picture in one place.

⚠️ Only makes sense without inventory synchronization
With inventory synchronization enabled, each store maintains the same quantity, and the total multiplies the same number multiple times. Use summarized inventory when stores have separate inventories, and inventory quantity is entered as an exception.

Show other stores' stock in the storefront

Make the stock of other stores available for the storefront templates, so that the customer can see where an item is located.

⚠️ Requires template work
The setting makes the data available, but nothing is displayed until a template is built to show them. The panel marks it with 'Requires template work'. Contact support or your design partner before turning it on.

Set by sub-stores

Below the three settings is a read-only list. It shows settings that are enabled for the main store because at least one sub-store receives that data — customers, currencies, order statuses, and the rest of the synchronization switches.

They cannot be changed here. The main store's value is recalculated every time a sub-store is saved, so a change here would be overwritten. The panel lists which stores have enabled each of them, so you can see where to go.

If you want to change one of them, go to the relevant sub-store and change it there.

What is not here

Consolidated orders per sale. The setting is only available on the sub-stores. Consolidated orders are collected in the main store, so a main store tracking its own sales would create consolidated orders for itself. You can find the switch under the Modules tab for each sub-store.

Structure and on/off for the entire synchronization. Which store is the main store, and whether the synchronization is active at all, is not set here. Contact support if the setup needs to be changed.
