Related products
This article explains how to add related products in the control panel, so that customers can more easily find relevant items – and you increase upsells in your online store.
Why use related products?
Related products help customers to:
- discover alternative or complementary items
- find the right products faster
- add more items to the shopping cart
This can contribute to higher conversion and increased average order value.
How to add related products
- Go to Products → Products and open the product you want to edit
- Scroll to the bottom of the product page
- Find the field Related products
Search for products you want to add via the search bar or the drop-down menu.
How does the search bar work?
When you search for a product, you get several options:
- Click on the product name
- Adds the product
- Closes the search result
- You must then choose Add or Add to both products
- Add
- Adds the product as related
- Keeps the search result open so you can add more products
- Cross-link
- The products are mutually linked
- The product you are editing becomes related to the selected product, and vice versa
- The search result remains open
Add to both products (cross-linking)
This function ensures that the link goes both ways.
Example:
- You add T-shirt Red as a related product to T-shirt Green
- T-shirt Green is also automatically related to T-shirt Red
This saves time and ensures consistent product linking.
Copy related products from another product
If you have many similar products, you can save a lot of time by using Copy from
- Select a product that already has related products set up
- Copy the relationships directly
- Avoid manual repetition
This is especially useful for series, colors, or variants of the same product.
