Multi-store — settings per sub-store

Each sub-store has its own set of settings. These determine which data is inherited from the main store, which goes back up, and which additional features are enabled for that specific store.

You can find them under Settings → Multi-store, select a sub-store in the list on the left, the tab Settings

All settings

The direction indicates which way the data flows.

Setting

Direction

What it does

Nickname

A name you give the store, so the list is easier to read

Cross-selling of products

Both ways

Sell products the store is out of, and automatically order them from the stores you select here

Which categories should be synchronized?

Main store → sub-store

Limit synchronization to one category. Default is all

Synchronize stock changes

Main store → sub-store

The stock level in the sub-store is kept the same as the main store

Allow stock changes

Sub-store → main store

Allows you to change stock in the sub-store and send the change up to the main store

Synchronize customers

Both ways

The customer list is kept the same as the main store

Synchronize liabilities

Both ways

Gift cards and credit notes. Shown as read-only — see below

Synchronize dealers

Main store → sub-store

Dealers and dealer prices are kept the same

Synchronize suppliers

Main store → sub-store

The supplier list is kept the same

Synchronize currencies

Main store → sub-store

The currency setup is kept the same

Synchronize order statuses

Main store → sub-store

The order statuses are kept the same

Purchases handled by the main store

Both ways

All purchases for the store are registered and handled in the main store

Synchronize orders

Main store → sub-store

Orders from the sub-store are sent to the main store. Not active — see below

Stock summary

Summarizes the stock from each sub-store that has this enabled, and writes the total into the main store

Interdependent Settings

Some settings are interdependent. The panel manages this automatically: if you enable a setting that requires another, it will be enabled simultaneously, and if you disable a setting that others depend on, they will also be disabled. What happens before you save is indicated below the switch.

What you just clicked on takes precedence. If you enable Inventory summary while inventory synchronization is active, inventory synchronization will be disabled — not the other way around.

Choose one way to manage inventory

Inventory synchronization, inventory summary, and cross-selling are three answers to the same question, and they should not be combined.

Solution

Suitable when

Synchronize inventory changes

Stores share one physical inventory and should display the same quantity

Inventory summary

Each store has its own inventory, and the main store should display the total

Cross-selling

Each store has its own inventory, and stores should be able to sell from each other's stock

⚠️ Cross-selling and collective orders require inventory synchronization to be off
Inventory synchronization writes the main store's quantity down to the sub-store. The reservation placed by cross-selling and collective orders will then disappear with the next product synchronization. Stores with inventory synchronization enabled therefore cannot be selected as a cross-selling source.

Cross-selling

Cross-selling allows the store to sell products it is out of stock for, and automatically order them from another store. You check the boxes for the stores from which to order.

There are three limitations to be aware of:

  • A sub-store can only cross-sell from other sub-stores under the same main store.
  • The main store cannot be selected as a source from a sub-store. The opposite way — main store selling from a sub-store's stock — is set up from the main store's own page.
  • Stores with stock synchronization enabled are not available, for the reason above.

If the setup has only one sub-store, there is no valid source for it, and the panel will notify you.

💡 Cross-selling set up from the module page
If cross-selling is set up from the module page under Settings → Modules, the list will not be displayed in the multi-store panel until the pair has been saved from here once. The value works as intended in the meantime.

Limit to one category

Which categories should be synchronized? is set to All categories. If you select one of the main categories, only that one will be synchronized: its subcategories and products, and nothing outside of it.

The list shows the main store's main categories in the same order as the category page. Categories hidden in the storefront are included in the list — a store can well be limited to a category customers do not see.

Synchronize orders transfers nothing today

The setting can be turned on and saved, but the order transfer itself is not active in the current version. It is turned off in the synchronizer, and the manual synchronization button for orders has been removed for the same reason.

If you need orders collected in the main store, please contact support. If items are to be collected for reordering, you want collection orders — see the Modules tab further down.

Synchronize debt is read-only

The setting is displayed with the saved value but cannot be changed. The switch appeared to work in the old version of the page but never saved anything. Making it writable would start synchronizing gift card and credit note balances between stores, and that is a decision that must be made consciously.

If you need this, please contact support.

Modules tab

Two switches that apply to the selected sub-store. They are separate because they are store settings, not settings for the pair.

Module

What it does

Disable product extension

A product is only deactivated when it is at 0 in both the main store and all sub-stores that have this enabled. Without it, it is sufficient for the main store to run out

Create a collection order for each sale

Every time this store sells something, the product lines are added to a collection order in the main store, so that everything to be reordered is gathered in one place

💡 Collection orders are set per store
The switch applies to the store you are currently in. The main store's own collection order setting does not exist — it would collect the store's sales into itself.

Collection orders only include items that the delivering store actually has in stock, and the lines are reserved there. Returns and correction lines are never included.

Excluding a product from collection orders

Some products should never be reordered from another store — items the store has removed from its assortment, campaign items only available in one place, or products that cannot be moved between stores.

Tag the product with exclude_from_collection_order and set the value to . This will exclude it from both replenishment orders and cross-selling orders.

Here's how:

1. Go to the product in the main store2.
Open the product's tags.3.
Add the tag exclude_from_collection_order with the value 4. Save.

The tag is synchronized down to the sub-stores along with the rest of the product's tags, so you set it once and it applies throughout the entire setup.

💡 The value must be set
Only the value or true enables the exclusion. A tag that simply exists, without a value, does not exclude the product.

If you have added product tags as exceptions for a sub-store, the tag will not be included there, and then it must also be set in that store.
