# Product synchronization

## Product synchronization

Product synchronization allows you to display the same products, categories, and manufacturers in multiple online stores. If you change something in one store, the change will be reflected in the others.

In practice, you have one main store that determines the product range, and one or more sub-stores that receive it. If you want a sub-store to have its own prices, descriptions, or inventory, you set it up as an exception.

Order processing and settings are still managed from each individual store. It is products, categories, and manufacturers that are synchronized.

## Where you manage it

All setup is located under **Settings → Multi-store** in the main store. There you select a sub-store and decide what should be synchronized to that specific one.

| You will | Read |
| --- | --- |
| Navigate the panel, understand main store and sub-store | Multi-store — overview and store selector |
| Turn synchronization on and off, field by field | Multi-store — settings per sub-store |
| Let a store keep its own prices, texts, or inventory | Multi-store — exceptions from synchronization |
| Set up cross-selling or combined inventory display | Multi-store — main store's own settings |

## Inventory across stores

There are three ways to manage inventory, and you choose one of them per sub-store:

| Solution | Suitable when |
| --- | --- |
| **Synchronize inventory changes** | Stores share one physical inventory and should show the same quantity |
| **Inventory summary** | Each store has its own inventory, and the main store should show the total |
| **Inter-store sales** | Each store has its own inventory, and stores should be able to sell from each other's stock |

With inter-store sales, a store can sell something it is out of stock for, and the item is automatically ordered from the store that has it. You can also have each sale end up in a **consolidated order** in the main store, so that everything that needs to be reordered is gathered in one place. Both options are set up in the multi-store panel.

## Connected apps

- **Reseller solution:** Can be used with product synchronization, but only works in the main store. Prices are not transferred to the sub-store.
- **Stock history:** In the main store, you can adjust the stock of the sub-store. Requires the Stock History app to be installed.
- **Order synchronization:** Orders are not sent between stores in the current version. The setting "Synchronize orders" is still available in the panel, but the transfer itself is not active. If you need orders collected in one place, please contact support.
