# Set offer on an entire category

Filter by category, select all matches, and set the offer price for the entire selection simultaneously.

If an entire category is to be on offer — all sweaters, everything from one manufacturer, the entire autumn collection — you do it in three steps: filter by the category, select all results, and set the price for the entire selection simultaneously.

There is no separate «category offer» page in the Offer Center. The category is a filter, not a separate offer, which is why you won't find it as a separate menu item.

## How to do it

**1.** Go to **Products → Offer Center → Adjust Offer**

**2.** Click **Filter**, and open **Category**

**3.** Check the categories you want to include. The search field in the dropdown menu finds them quickly.

**4.** Click **Apply filters**. The table now only shows the products in those categories.

**5.** Check the checkbox at the top of the table. Above the table, a line appears: *«All N entries on this page are selected»* — click **Select all N matches** next to it.

**6.** Click **Set sale price** in the action bar.

**7.** Select discount method, enter the value, optionally set rounding and start and end dates, and click **Save offer**

Step 5 is what distinguishes a category offer from a regular bulk selection. The checkbox at the top only selects the products on the page you are currently on — usually 25 of them. **Select all N matches** includes everything the filter matched, even what you haven't scrolled to.

## The category filter shows the bottom-level categories

The list in the category filter only contains categories that do not have subcategories, and each of them is displayed with its full path:

```
Klær / Gensere / Ullgensere
Klær / Gensere / Strikkejakker
Klær / Bukser / Jeans
```

If you want to include all **Sweaters**, check all lines that start with `Clothing / Sweaters /`. Type `Sweaters` in the search field, they will be grouped together, and you can check them off one by one.

> **⚠️ «Select all» selects all categories in the store**
> The button **Select all** at the top of the dropdown menu includes every single category — it doesn't care what you've searched for. If you use it after a search, you'll end up with the entire catalog in your selection. Check the lines manually instead, and use **Remove all** if you've made a mess.

A product that is in several of the categories you have checked will only count once. You won't get it twice in the selection, and the price is set once.

## Check the number before saving

The Bulk editor shows how many products are selected at the top, and a preview with the price each product will end up with. If the selection is larger than 50 products, the table shows the first 50 with a line below stating how many are actually updated — the counters and saving apply to all.

If the number doesn't match what you expected from the category, go back and look at the filter. The most common discrepancy is a subcategory that was not checked.

> **💡 The limit is 10,000 products**
> If the filter matches more than that, the link says **Select the first 10,000 of N matches**, and you will get exactly the first 10,000 in table order. Split into two rounds — for example, one manufacturer at a time — if you have a catalog of that size.

## Products that will not get the new price

Two groups are skipped, and both are counted in the label **«N skipped»** in the preview:

- **Products locked by an active campaign.** The campaign owns the price as long as it runs. If the price on these needs to be lowered, do it in the Campaign Center.
- **Products that are already on offer**, if you have checked **Skip products that are already on offer**. This is useful when you want to give the rest of the category an offer without overwriting the offers you set last week.

## Undo a category offer

The entire operation is logged as one bulk editor. If the percentage was wrong, or the filter was too broad, go to **Offer Center → Bulk Editor Log**, open the change and click **Undo entire change**. The products are reverted to their previous state.

You can also remove the offers without going through the log: filter by the same category again, select all matches, and click **Remove** in the action bar.

## Tip

- If the category is on offer for the weekend and off again on Monday, set **Start** and **End** in the Bulk editor immediately. Then you don't have to remember to turn it off. The end date applies for the entire day.
- Feel free to combine category with **Manufacturer** or **Stock** in the same filter. «All sweaters from one supplier with at least 5 in stock» is one filter, not three rounds.
- The selection you bring into the Bulk editor is held for half an hour. If you stay too long, go back to «Adjust offer» and select again.
- If you have a Plus subscription, the AI command line above the table does the same from plain text: *«Give 15% discount on all sweaters until December 1st»* sets the filters for you.
