# File browser

This article explains how to use the file browser to manage files in the control panel. Here you can navigate between folders, upload files, create new folders, and move files.

## How to open the file explorer

1. Go to **Main menu → Tools → File explorer**
2. The front page shows an overview of folders and files stored in the control panel.

Some folders are automatically created by the system, for example:

- **Images** – contains images used in the online store
- **Logo** – contains the store’s logo

## Navigating folders

The file explorer displays folders containing files uploaded through the control panel.

Many folders contain system files, while others—such as **Images**—contain images used in the online store, for example:

- Product images
- Banner images
- Other uploaded images

You can open folders to:

- Find previously uploaded files
- Download files
- Organize files in folders

## Creating folders

You can create your own folders to organize files more efficiently.

This can be useful for grouping:

- Product images
- Banner images
- Campaign materials

### How to create a folder

1. Click **Actions**
2. Select **Create folder**
3. Enter a name for the folder
4. Save

2. Click **Move** in the preview
3. Select the destination folder

## Uploading files

You can upload files directly to the file explorer.

### How to upload files

There are two ways to upload files:

**Upload file**

1. Click **Actions → Upload file**
2. Locate and select the file(s) you want to upload
3. Click **Open**

**Drag and drop**

1. Drag and drop files from your computer into the file explorer
2. The files will upload automatically

If a file with the same name already exists, the system will handle the upload according to the existing file.

## Renaming files

You can rename files directly in the file explorer.

⚠️ **Important**

Be careful when renaming **images that are already in use in the online store**.
Renaming them may cause images to stop displaying correctly on product pages or elsewhere.

## Supported file types

The file explorer supports, among others, the following file types:

**Images:** jpg, jpeg, png, gif, svg, webp, ico
**Documents:** pdf, csv, xls, xlsx, json, xml
**Web files:** html, css, js, tpl
**Fonts:** ttf, eot, woff, woff2

## Important to know

- Changes to file locations do not affect images already linked to products
- Avoid renaming images that are used in the online store
- The file explorer can be used to locate and download previously uploaded files
