# Duplicating Products

This article explains how to create a copy (duplicate) of an existing product in Acendy.

## How to duplicate a product

1.  Go to **Products → Products** in your control panel.
2.  Click on the product you wish to duplicate.
3.  Click **Duplicate**.
4.  Select the category where you want to place the new product.
5.  Choose whether or not to copy the existing categories.
6.  Click **Duplicate**.

The new product is created as an identical copy of the original product.

## Important steps after duplicating

Once the product has been duplicated, you should:

-   Change the **product name** if necessary.
-   Update the **product URL**.
-   Verify the **price, stock level, and SKU (article number)**.
-   Adjust **visibility** settings before publishing.

⚠ **Note:** Duplicates do not share history; they begin as entirely new products.

### **Good to know**

-   The original product and the duplicate exist as two separate products.
-   Changes made to one will not affect the other.
-   **Duplication is useful for:**
-   -   Similar products.
    -   Seasonal variants.
    -   Quickly creating new products.
